Road Care is a membership-based support service for passengers only. It is not a medical scheme and not a financial product under the FAIS Act. Below are the key terms that govern your membership:

1. Membership & Activation

• Membership starts upon successful first payment.
• A valid ID/passport and consent via SMS are required.
• Members must be 18+ years old and legally residing in South Africa.
• Digital Membership Cards are sent via SMS — share this with loved ones for emergency use.

2. Payments & Fees

• Monthly membership fees are payable via your selected method.
• Fees may change with 31 days’ notice via SMS.
• Failure to pay within 15 days of the due date results in automatic cancellation.

3. Cancellation & Termination

• You may cancel at any time with 31 days’ notice.
• Road Care may also cancel with 31 days’ notice via SMS.
• Some provisions, especially those related to liability and obligations, continue after termination.

4. Your Responsibilities & Risks

• By using this service, you accept that Road Care’s liability is limited to the value of the membership fees paid.
• You are responsible for providing accurate information during any claim or emergency.
• Misuse or failure to comply with legal/RAF requirements may result in loss of benefits.

5. Medical Services (Accidents)

• Road Care facilitates access to private hospitals following a road accident as a passenger.
• Services include verifying documentation, coordinating admission, and providing case support.
• This service provides care in private facilities up to recovery.
• Road Care does not pay for your treatment—costs are covered by the Road Accident Fund (RAF).
• Service is excluded if you:
  • Were the driver.
  • Were illegally in SA.
  • Caused the accident.
  • Were involved in criminal activity.

6. RAF Claims Support

• Road Care refers your case to a legal partner.
• If the case has merit, full claims assistance is provided for free.
• You get 100% RAF settlement — no contingency fees.
• Support extends to legal dependents and close relatives handling funeral costs.

7. Digital Coupons

• Members get monthly coupons via SMS, redeemable at Shoprite, Checkers & Checkers Hyper.
• Up to 50 coupons per month, values range from R3–R20, valid for 48 hours.
• Coupons not utilised within 48 hours are not forfeited.
• Coupons can be used 5 times each, for a potential saving of R750/month.
• Redeem by entering a barcode at the till before payment.

8. Accidental Death & Violent Crime Benefits

• R20,000 for accidental death, plus another R20,000 if caused by a violent crime violent crime (as a passenger).
• You must be under 85
• A criminal case must be opened for Violent crime must be reported with a police case number provided.
• Claims must be reported within 6 months, and documents submitted within             9 months.

Disclaimer: The Accidental Death and Violent Crime benefit is an insurance product. Wi-Taxi is the master policyholder and as a valued Road Care Member you are a beneficiary of their policy.

9. Force Majeure

Road Care is not liable for delays due to war, natural disasters, strikes, or any event beyond their control.
